The new iPhone has hit the market, and along with it comes 5G. If you are a human being who consumes any sort of media, you know full well that phone companies as pushing the HELL out of 5G.
It is not just the next best thing, according to these companies. It IS the thing.
So let us take a closer look…
Upon doing a little research, it is clear that 5G has incredible capabilities that will be an integral part of the future of tech. But not quite yet. There is still a ways to go.
5G is supposed to be incredibly fast. So fast, in fact, that experts predict it will be essential to the development of self-driving cars. 5G is so fast that eventually it could be used for things like performing surgery virtually from across the world.
Unfortunately, the current state of 5G is less glamorous. 5G is freaky fast. But It also travels much shorter distances, and has trouble penetrating obstacles. Not to mention that it is far from readily available in America.
What does all this mean? It means that these phone companies are selling you a false narrative. While 5G will be a huge part of a future, we are still quite a way off. These phone companies are just blowing smoke up your ass right now, hoping you bite.
For the short term until the kinks are figured out, there are rumors that companies will primarily try to install 5G specifically in concert halls, arenas, and stadiums. A lot good that will do right about now… NAHT.
To rehash…5G be well important to the future. But it isn’t well important currently, simply because it is not widely accessible.
