As many know iOS 14 is now available for all compatible iPhones. In our other article, we talked about some of the new features in iOS 14. However, this article will go into more detail about how to create automations on your iPhone, or as Apple calls them: Shortcuts.
As mentioned on our latest episode of our podcast Byte Club, Antonino talked about how he built a shortcut for him and his girlfriend to go on a coffee date. In this article, we are going to show you just how he did that!
So shall we begin?
Step 1: Make sure to have the Starbucks Mobile App downloaded on your phone.
Step 2: Open up the shortcuts app on your iPhone.
Step 3: Click the plus button in the top right corner of the screen to create a new shortcut.
Step 4: Click the Add Action button and then search for Starbucks
Step 5: Once you have search for Starbucks, select the order action item
Step 6: Once the action item is added to your new shortcut, click the "Order" button to select the drink order you'd like Siri to order for you, and then the "Store" button to select which store you'd like Siri to order it to for pick up.
Step 7: Click next and give your shortcut a name! This is the important part, because as you can see in the photo below this is how you can instruct Siri to order your coffee for you!
Now there you have it, you have turned Siri into your own personal assistant!
