Big changes in the world of social media. Last month, Facebook changed to Meta. This week, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey stepped down. Enter Parag Agrawal.
Big news, to be sure. It should be noted that Agrawal is familiar with the company. The new CEO formerly served as Twitter’s chief technology officer prior.
“I’ve decided to leave Twitter because I believe the company is ready to move on from its founders,” Dorsey said in a statement. “My trust in Parag as Twitter’s CEO is deep.”
Shares of Twitter TWTR, -2.38% closed down 2.7% Monday after the announcement of Dorsey’s departure.
More to come on this, obviously. Groundbreaking changes going on in the world of social media.
Perhaps a follow-up article in the coming days on some potential policy changes at Twitter. Or on Jack Dorsey’s legacy…
